Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and how we look after it.

Last updated: 29 April 2026

This is a draft policy provided for review. The Time For CH₄nge team should review and confirm the wording reflects current operations before launch.

Who we are

Time For CH₄nge is a civil society initiative tracking the implementation of the EU Methane Regulation across the 27 Member States. The platform is operated and maintained on our behalf by Atypically Digital.

For questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us using the email address shown in the footer of every page.

What we collect

We deliberately collect as little personal information as possible.

Subscriber email addresses

If you sign up for tracker or news updates, we store the email address you provide along with the date you consented and a record of whether you have confirmed your subscription. Your address is used only to send the updates you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records standard request data (IP address, request path, response code, timestamp) for the purposes of security, error diagnosis, and platform operation. These logs are retained according to our hosting provider's policy.

Site analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate (for example: which pages are most visited, what country visitors are roughly in). Vercel Web Analytics is a privacy-first, cookieless service - it does not place tracking cookies and does not identify individual visitors. We also record application-level events (for example: when a news post is opened, or when someone signs up to the mailing list) for the same purpose. These records are not linked to individual identities.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • We do not use advertising tracking, fingerprinting, or marketing cookies.
  • We do not profile individual visitors.

Cookies

See our Cookie Policy for the full list of cookies the site uses. In short: we use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function (for example, the admin session cookie when an editor signs in to manage content).

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete it.
  • Withdraw your consent (for example, by unsubscribing).
  • Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the email address in the footer. We will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

Subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe; once unsubscribed, your address is retained only as long as necessary to ensure we do not accidentally re-contact you. Server logs are retained as set out above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects when changes were last made. Material changes will be communicated through the site or by email to subscribers.

We use only essential cookies. These keep the site secure and let editors sign in. We do not use advertising, profiling, or tracking cookies. Read more in our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.
